China Southern Airlines said its Xiamen Airlines unit has bought six 787 Dreamliners from Boeing, as the country’s carriers boost their fleets to meet soaring demand. The planes, which will be delivered between 2014 and 2015, have a combined price tag of about $1.1 billion, but would be purchased for a ‘significantly lower’ amount, said China Southern, the nation’s biggest carrier by fleet size.
