Air Canada reported second quarter operating income of C$73 million compared to operating income of C$47 million in the second quarter of 2010, an improvement of $26 million. Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, amortization and impairment, and aircraft rent (EBITDAR) of $338 million increased $10 million from the same quarter in 2010. Air Canada reported a net loss of $46 million in the second quarter of 2011 compared to a net loss of $318 million in the second quarter of 2010, an improvement of $272 million. The net loss in the second quarter of 2011 includes foreign exchange gains of $9 million, while the net loss in the second quarter of 2010 included foreign exchange losses of $190 million.
