Finnair’s financial performance deteriorated and its operating result was a loss of 13.8 million euros, compared with a loss of 13.6 million euros in the corresponding period of the previous year. Due to improvements in operational efficiency, operating costs excluding fuel were in line with expectations, at 425.5 million euros (392.7). Unit costs, excluding fuel, fell by 11.6% compared with the previous year. Finnair posted a net loss of 23 million euros for the second quarter compared to a net loss of 27.8 million euros in 2010.
