Porter Airlines adds 40 Halifax jobs at new crew base

Porter Airlines has opened a crew base for pilots and flight attendants in Halifax, doubling its employees in the city to 80 by creating 40 local jobs. The new crew base, located at Halifax Stanfield International Airport, is the first to be added outside of Porter’s Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport headquarters. A result of overall company and market growth, the new base creates operational and economic efficiencies that will benefit passengers. Porter’s existing Halifax employees include customer service, ground handling and maintenance personnel.  The local crew members will be primarily responsible for serving routes for Halifax, St. John’s, Nfld., Montreal, Ottawa, Moncton and Toronto.
