GKN Aerospace launches UK-based ‘one stop shop’ for aircraft fuel tank repair

GKN Aerospace announced the launch of a ‘one stop’ repair service for fixed and rotary wing flexible fuel tanks which aims to halve the repair times typically experienced by operators across the UK and Europe. The new service – the only facility of its kind in the UK today – will offer fast, effective, European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) Design Organisation Part 21 approved repair of all types of flexible fuel tank, including self-sealing, crash worthy and explosion supressing products. The service will operate alongside GKN Aerospace’s leading fuel system manufacturing activity in Portsmouth, UK.
