328 Design receives Design Organisation approval from EASA

328 Design GmbH reported that as of August 1st 2011, it has been approved by the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) as a Part 21J Design Organization (EASA.21J.438). Jörg Gorkenant – Head of Design – said “This is part of the strategic development to bring the Dornier 328 design function back in-house for a true “one-stop-shop” providing operators with improved fleet support.” With its group partner company, 328 Support Service GmbH as the Type Certificate (TC) Holder, 328 Design will now support the 328 Prop & 328 JET fleet with over 200 Aircraft in operation worldwide. Customer Support will continue to be coordinated through the Global Support Centre for in-service support of the Dornier 328 fleet and now any STC enquiries.
