LAN Airlines and AWAS sign purchase and lease back agreement for five A320 aircraft

AWAS reported that it has agreed with LAN Airlines, one of the leading passenger and cargo airlines in Latin America, to enter into a purchase and lease back transaction for 5 Airbus A320 aircraft, that the carrier had previously ordered directly from the manufacturer for 2011-2012 delivery. AWAS already delivered the first of these passenger aircraft to LAN. The carrier will use these new fuel-efficient, narrowbody aircraft to strengthen their regional network throughout South America.
