First PurePower PW1200G engine concludes ground testing

Ground testing of Pratt & Whitney’s first PW1200G family engine – the PW1217G engine for the Mitsubishi Regional Jet (MRJ) – recently concluded. The engine, the first of an eight-engine validation and certification program, completed more than 300 hours and 1,100 cycles. The PW1217G engine test program will run a total of eight test engines through 2012 leading up to aircraft first flight. Entry into service is scheduled for 2014.
