International Aero Engines V2500 SelectOne engine has recently reached a major milestone with its 1000th delivery. Engine V16000 was shipped from the Rolls-Royce Dahlewitz facility to Indigo. “The V2500 SelectOne is a very big success for us – it improved fuel burn by a full one percent,” commented IAE Executive Vice President Jim Guiliano. “It also improved time-on-wing by up to 20% and achieved or surpassed CAEP6 NOx standards.”
IAE has moved forward with its popular Select series by introducing the SelectTwo earlier this year. This version is projected to provide about 0.6% fuel burn savings compared to the V2500 SelectOne engine for a 500 nautical mile A320 mission. It is comprised of a software upgrade for the Electronic Engine Control (EEC), as well as a new data entry plug (DEP).
