airberlin technik provides servicing to Emirates' A380 in Munich

With the first flight of Emirates’ Airbus A380 from Dubai to Munich, airberlin technik expands its range of capability to include the double-deck aircraft. In future, the EASA Part 145 certified maintenance company will perform the transit check every day, while the aircraft is on the ground at the Bavarian capital city. At the Munich location, airberlin technik runs a hangar with 12,000 m² of floor area, with space for up to six narrow-body aircraft or three wide-body aircraft, along with employing 270 staff.
airberlin technik already provides complete line maintenance to Emirates in Germany at Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Frankfurt and also Munich. This includes maintenance contracts for the aircraft types Airbus A330, A340, A380 and also Boeing 777.
