The Australian airline Qantas and China Eastern Airlines founded a low cost airline in Hong Kong. The joint venture, in which both owners have an equal share, will begin service in the coming year under the name ‘Jetstar Hong Kong’. The new airline will start operations with three A320 aircraft and will expand its fleet to 18 A320 aircraft by the year 2015. Qantas and China Eastern together invested $198m in the new airline.
