Embraer reported that in the first quarter of 2012 (1Q12), it delivered 21 jets to the commercial aviation market and 13 to business aviation. This result surpassed the 20 commercial and eight executive jets recorded in the same period of 2011. On March 31, 2012, the firm order backlog totaled US$ 14.7 bn. The E-Jets orders rose to 1,063, with 60 companies in 42 countries. During the last quarter, Embraer closed sales for 12 new commercial jets: ten E195s to Azul, one E190 to BA CityFlyer, and one E170 to JAL (customer disclosed on April 4). The family of E-Jets operators continued to grow and Embraer welcomed two new airlines – Bulgaria Air and Estonian Air.
