New TRTO approval supports OAA expansion in Singapore

Oxford Aviation Academy (OAA) has further enhanced its training capability in Asia through securing Type Rating Training Organisation (TRTO) approval from the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS). OAA is the very first non-Singapore based TRTO to achieve this status. With this new TRTO approval in place, OAA’s Hong Kong training centre can deliver approved A320 and A330 Type Rating Training programmes leading to the issue of a CAAS Type Rating. Furthermore, this enhanced training capability enables OAA to develop bespoke training programmes to address the manpower gaps for pilots within the region’s airline industry. The first customers to benefit from this new OAA training approval will be Singapore based airlines: Jetstar Asia and Tiger Airways. OAA has collaborated with both airlines for the launch of innovative airline pilot cadet training programmes to support their expanding Pan-Asian operations. The first 18 cadet pilots selected for these programmes are now already in the process of completing their final phase of A320 Type Rating Training in Hong Kong.
