Sukhoi Superjet 100 goes missing on demonstration flight in Indonesia

While on a promotion tour in Indonesia, a Sukhoi Superjet 100 disappeared from radar screens during a demonstration flight close to the city of Jakarta, Indonesia, The National Post reported. On board the aircraft were 46 people. Indonesia’s search and rescue agency said radio contact with the plane was lost at about 0800 GMT after the jet descended to 6,000 feet around Mount Salak, a volcano 2,211 metres (7,254 feet) above sea level south of the capital Jakarta. The plane was carrying Indonesian businessmen, Russian embassy officials and journalists according to the National Post.
