Fourth Boeing 747-8 Freighter for Cargolux

Cargolux took delivery of another Boeing 747-8 Freighter at Boeing’s delivery center in Everett. After a short ferry flight to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, the fourth aircraft out of a total order of 13 entered into revenue service on the same day with the flight continuing to Los Angeles prior to joining the Cargolux fleet in Luxembourg. This aircraft is the first 747-8F delivered from Boeing with increased operational weights. The maximum takeoff weight has gone up by 6 tonnes to 442 tonnes. “As our 747-8F fleet is growing steadily, we are able to enjoy the increased economics of the new freighter in our operations,” said Frank Reimen, Cargolux President & CEO.
