Ruag officially opens modernised assembly hall in Oberpfaffenhofen

On June 29th, Ruag officially opened the modernised assembly hall for the Dornier 228 New Generation, at the Oberpfaffenhofen airport near Munich. Here, final assembly of the Dornier 228 New Generation will take place, and the maintenance of military and civil aircraft will be carried out. In Oberpfaffenhofen, RUAG employs around 1000 staff. RUAG is the only manufacturer which assembles an aircraft of these dimensions entirely in Germany. “The modernisation and inauguration of the assembly hall is a demonstration that RUAG is the centre of excellence for civil and military aircraft maintenance, servicing, repair, and final assembly,” said Alexander Müller, managing director of RUAG Aerospace Services GmbH. “In Oberpfaffenhofen we carry out various tasks: In addition to the production of the Dornier 228 New Generation and its conversion to the aircraft used for many types of special missions, using the most up-to-date sensor technology, one of our core skills is the MRO business (Maintenance, Repair, Overhaul) for military and civil aircraft, especially for the planes in the Dornier family.”
