ATS in Kansas City set to work on global transport aircraft

Aviation Technical Services’ new aircraft maintenance facility at the Kansas City Missouri International Airport received certification from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) that enables it to perform maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services on virtually any transport category aircraft in the world. This certification is the latest milestone for the new ATS location, which specializes in heavy maintenance and modification of large aircraft. Previously, the Kansas City facility operated under an FAA authorization granted through ATS’ FAA‐certified repair station in Everett, Washington. With this new certification, ATS‐Kansas City has received its own FAA Class IV Airframe rating and is supplemented by an additional limited airframe rating specifically for Boeing‐787 aircraft.
