HAITEC granted FAA approval

German-based HAITEC Aircraft Maintenance GmbH has been granted the Repair Station Approval by the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). As an EASA Part-145 organization, HAITEC holds approvals from Civil Aviation Organizations of Russia, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Azerbaijan and Bermuda and now the FAA for a broad range of Boeing and Airbus aircraft as well as Gulfstream business jets. The FAA approval is an important milestone in enabling the overall expansion strategy of the company in capacity and capability. In 2014, HAITEC announced a €30m expansion program over the next three years. The program includes the establishment of the new VIP Aircraft Maintenance line in Erfurt, tooling and equipment for additional aircraft types, production efficiency methodologies and information systems, the acquisition of the existing hangar (H900 at Hahn Airport), and purchase of the surrounding land for the construction of a second maintenance facility adjacent to the current facility. Set to be operational in spring 2016, the new hangar with A380 capacity incorporates comprehensive support shop capability, a parts warehouse, and a two-story office complex, totaling 17.000 m².
