Korean Air placed an order for 60 CFM LEAP-1B engines to power 30 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft. The order is valued at US$877m at list price, including spare engines.
At the Paris Air Show AerCap Holdings announced an order for 200 CFM LEAP-1B engines to power 100 737 MAX aircraft. The order is valued at US$2.7bn at list price.
Long-time CFM customer SMBC Aviation Capital, signed an order for CFM International's LEAP-1B engines to power 10 additional Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, a purchase also announced at the Paris Air Show. This follows an order it placed in late 2014 for 160 LEAP-1B engines. This newest order is valued at US$270m at list price. Dublin-based SMBC Aviation Capital currently has a fleet of nearly 300 Boeing 737 aircraft powered by CFM56 and LEAP engines in service or on order.
Sriwijaya Air announced a firm order for CFM56-7B engines to power two B737-900ER, as well as its intent to exercise options for up to 20 additional 20 737 aircraft. Based in Jakarta, Indonesia, Sriwijaya Air began operations in 2003 and now is the third largest airline in Indonesia by market share. The airline currently operates a fleet of 41 Boeing 737 aircraft powered by the CFM56-7B and CFM56-3.
New Chinese carrier Ruili Airlines signed a US$810m order for 60 CFM LEAP-1B engines to power 30 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft. Ruili, which began operations in early 2014, serves seven domestic routes in China with five Boeing Next-Generation 737 aircraft powered by CFM56-7B engines.
Minsheng Financial Leasing ordered CFM International's CFM56-7B and LEAP-1B engines to power 10 Boeing Next-Generation 737 and 20 737 MAX aircraft, respectively. Minsheng Financial Leasing was established in 2008 and is the largest business jet lessor in Asia and decided to enter commercial aircraft leasing in 2013. The company currently owns or manages over 30 commercial aircraft and has more than 10 international and Chinese customers.
