GE Capital Aviation Services (GECAS) announced the delivery of a leased Boeing 737-800 aircraft to its new Thai airline customer NewGen Airways to expand the carrier’s fleet. A second leased 737-800 aircraft is also scheduled for delivery later this month. Both aircraft feature split scimitar winglets which reduce fuel burn by up to 2.3% on longer-haul routes compared to blended winglets. NewGen Airways, based in Bangkok, currently operates scheduled and charter services to destinations in China with a fleet of six aircraft.
