MTU Maintenance and Garuda Indonesia sign exclusive CF34 maintenance agreement

MTU Maintenance, one of the world’s leading providers of maintenance services for commercial aero engines, has won a new airline customer in Asia: Garuda Indonesia will send its CF34-8C5 engines to MTU Maintenance for repair according to an exclusive five-year agreement. The contract covers 30 to 40 shop visits and services also include the provision of lease engines. The CF34-8C5 engines from Garuda Indonesia’s fleet power 18 Bombardier CRJ1000 aircraft. The MRO work will be carried out at MTU Maintenance Berlin-Brandenburg. MTU Maintenance supports all current engine models of the CF34 family (CF34-1/-3, -8C/E, -10E) and has about 13 years of experience in providing MRO services for this engine type. Garuda Indonesia, the national flag carrier, and its low-cost arm Citilink currently operate a combined fleet of approximately 190 aircraft. The group serves more than 70 destinations worldwide, making around 600 flights a day.
