Kazakhstan-based Air Astana launched new non-stop flights from Almaty to Tehran, the capital of the Islamic Republic of Iran, starting June 30, 2016. Flights will operate three times a week and will be served by an Embraer 190. The cabin will feature nine Business Class seats and 88 Economy Class seats. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of The Republic Kazakhstan, the approximate value in trade between the two countries in 2015 was US$1bn.
