Hawaiian Airlines will add three new aircraft to its fleet with the purchase of one A330-200 and the lease of two additional A321neos. The newly ordered planes will enable Hawaiian to early retire its fleet of Boeing 767 aircraft by the end of 2018 while supporting measured, sustainable growth of its unique medium and long-haul missions. Hawaiian previously announced plans to phase in 16 new A321neo aircraft to its fleet beginning in 2017. Today’s signed letters of intent with two lessors for the delivery of additional aircraft in early 2018 will bring its total fleet of A321neos to 18 by 2020. The long-range, single-aisle A321neo will complement Hawaiian’s current fleet of 23 Airbus A330-200 wide-body, twin-aisle aircraft on long-haul routes between Hawaii and the U.S. West Coast. The additional A330 aircraft will bring Hawaiian’s total fleet of A330s to 24 by the fourth quarter of 2017. The airline also operates 20 narrow-body Boeing 717-200 and three ATR-42 aircraft for neighbor island flying.
