Universal Avionics receives FAA approval for ATN B1 CPDLC for Link 2000+

Universal Avionics Software Version SCN 31.1 for the UniLink UL-800/801 Communications Management Unit (CMU) has received FAA Technical Standard Order (TSO). The software upgrade provides an optional configuration for Aeronautical Telecommunications Network Baseline 1 (ATN B1) Controller-Pilot Data Link Communications (CPDLC) and Context Management functions required for the European mandate, formerly known as Link 2000+. Aircraft operating in European airspace will need to be equipped for ATN B1 CPDLC by 05 February 2020. UniLink SCN 31.1 provides baseline software and user interface improvements in addition to the ATN B1 CPDLC capability available as an optional configuration. In addition, UniLink SCN 31.1 also includes an update to VHF Data Radio (VDR) Software Version SCN 10.3 for the UL-801 CMU.
