Small Planet Airlines Germany is growing to 10 aircraft in 2018

Leisure charter carrier Small Planet Airlines is further expanding its presence in Germany – the airline signed contracts with German tour operators FTI Touristik and DER Touristik Deutschland and this way secured the top 4 German tour operators’ as its clients. Since 2016, Small Planet Airlines Germany is also cooperating with leisure travel giants TUI and Thomas Cook.
To handle growth, next year the airline is expanding its fleet to 10 Airbus aircraft. One aircraft will act as a standby unit, mitigating the risk of flight delays due to unforeseeable circumstances. Up to now, Small Planet Airlines Germany utilized 4 Airbus A320 aircraft with 180Y seats. According to Small Planet Airlines CEO Kristijonas Kaikaris, the airline sees tremendous growth opportunities in Europe’s largest market. “Our growing presence in Germany only proves that our efforts to obtain the Air Operator’s Certificate (AOC) paid off. Upon starting our operations in Germany, we have gained trust from our business partners and passengers in regional airports. Now is the time to enter Germany’s major airports”.
Dusseldorf (DUS), Hamburg (HAM), Hannover (HAJ), Cologne/Bonn (CGN), and Leipzig-Halle (LEJ) will become the new hubs of Small Planet Airlines Germany. Beginning with Winter 2017, Small Planet Airlines Germany will operate flights from Hannover to Malta and Egyptian resorts on behalf of FTI Touristik. Moreover, German passengers will have the possibility to reach Hurghada and Marsa Alam from Frankfurt, Dusseldorf, Leipzig, Berlin, Weeze, Stuttgart, Munich and Hamburg. Starting with Summer 2018, Small Planet Airlines’ aircraft will take off to popular Greek and Spanish destinations from Dusseldorf and Hamburg. The passengers will also have an opportunity to travel from Leipzig to the Greek islands of Crete, Kos, Rhodes, and the Canary Islands. Most of the planned flights are already booked by the major tour operators.
