West Star Aviation starts construction of new facility at ALN

West Star Aviation will expand their East Alton (ALN) facility with the addition of a new state-of-the-art hangar. The 64,200 ft² hangar, office and shop facility will be adjacent to West Star’s current facility. This new hangar, to be labeled ‘Hangar 66’, will be equivalent to the hangar that was built in 2014. It will be large enough to house maintenance on aircraft as large as Gulfstream G650 and Embraer Legacy 650. With this expansion, West Star Aviation ALN will occupy ten buildings totaling over 387,000 ft² of office, shop, and hangar space and over 200,000 ft² of ramp space. This expansion is expected to break ground fourth quarter of 2017 and is expected for completion second to mid-third quarter of 2018.
