AJW Capital, a key player in aviation asset management, part of the AJW Group, has announced the appointment of Erlendur Svavarsson as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO).
Svavarsson brings a wealth of experience to the role, having served as an accomplished CEO and Board of Directors member within the airline and aviation industry with roles previously held at Cabo Verde Airlines, Loftleidir Icelandic, Arctica Finance and Faradair Aerospace. With a proven track record in leadership, business development, strategic planning, organisational change, international business, negotiations and mergers and acquisitions, Svavarsson is a highly skilled professional. He is a graduate of the University of Iceland and holds an MBA, summa cum laude, from Reykjavik University, as well as completing studies at the prestigious Harvard Business School.
In his new role at AJW Capital, Svavarsson will spearhead the company’s strategic initiatives as it continues to thrive within the aviation industry. As part of the AJW Group of companies, AJW Capital serves as the principal investing division responsible for the purchase, sale, and lease of large aviation-related capital assets, including whole aircraft and engines.
AJW Capital actively engages in creating and managing joint venture vehicles, acquiring packages of aircraft and engine spare parts for utilisation and employing sophisticated strategies such as sale, teardown, or lease to maximise asset value.
