Atlas Air Inc., a subsidiary of Atlas Air Worldwide Holdings, has unveiled the extension of its strategic collaboration with YunExpress, a subsidiary of Zongteng Group. This expansion entails the addition of a second Boeing 777-200 freighter under a long-term charter agreement.
Augmenting the already fruitful alliance between Atlas and YunExpress, this additional 777 freighter is slated to commence operations for YunExpress in April. It will service six weekly routes connecting China and the United States. This expanded flying capacity is poised to bolster YunExpress’ international logistics network, effectively meeting the escalating demand for cross-border e-commerce shipments originating from China.
Wang Zuan, President of Zongteng Group, commented, “In December, YunExpress, in conjunction with Atlas, launched a charter service between Xiamen, China, and Miami utilising a 777 freighter, which has exhibited commendable performance. The signing of this fresh long-term agreement further fortifies and deepens our strategic partnership. Through YunExpress, our objective is to meet the escalating demand for airfreight capacity connecting China, Europe, and North America. Looking forward, we aim to expand our routes and fleet size to furnish customers with more convenient and diverse global transportation options, ensuring supply chain resilience, and supporting the stable development and expansion of our clients’ international enterprises.”
