GE Aerospace, Software as a Service, has announced that KLM Group Airlines (KLM Group), comprising KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, KLM Cityhopper and Martinair, has enlisted its Fuel Insight software to enhance fuel efficiency, lower CO2 emissions and consolidate around a unified set of tools at the group level.
Previously, KLM trialled GE Aerospace's Flight Analytics platform's EMS (event measurement system) during SkyTeam's sustainable flight challenge. The group has now opted for this platform and the company's Fuel Insight solution as its primary fuel efficiency system for aircraft operations.
Fuel Insight seamlessly merges the aircraft's original flight data with the airline's operational data. Utilising a robust suite of analytics and reporting tools, it furnishes operators with trends and actionable insights to elevate fuel efficiency. It was imperative for the KLM airlines group to access their data, tailor their analytics and exchange best practices through a centralised toolkit.
Fuel Insight empowers teams to acquire intuitive insights into fuel consumption and emissions, enabling them to prioritise initiatives with the highest potential for savings and monitor adoption rates across their fleet.
With the software, operators can revolutionise their fuel management approach, achieving significant cost reductions while simultaneously curbing their environmental impact.
By providing a unified source of truth for fuel data, KLM will be primed to pinpoint fuel optimisation opportunities that were previously overlooked.
