The inaugural commercial flight of Condor's freshly minted A320neo, bearing the registration D-ANCZ, took to the skies from Frankfurt, Germany, to Heraklion, Greece, on May 10, operating under flight number DE1662. Subsequent flights to Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, Funchal, Faro, and Samos in Greece are scheduled in the days ahead. This aircraft is the first of a fleet of 43 brand-new A32Xneo aircraft that Condor is set to acquire by 2029. As part of its ongoing fleet modernisation initiative, Condor is transitioning its existing short- and medium-haul fleet to include 15 A320neo and 28 A321neo aircraft.
Passengers aboard the A320neo can now enjoy state-of-the-art connectivity, enabling them to stay connected even while cruising above the clouds. The “FlyConnect” internet and entertainment platform provides access to a range of entertainment options including movies, series and podcasts, all stream-able on personal devices. Additionally, the aircraft features larger overhead compartments, offering more storage space for travellers' personal belongings, all within a stylishly designed striped interior.
The Airbus A32Xneo family represents the pinnacle of modern and highly efficient aircraft technology globally, incorporating significant advancements in aerodynamics with its innovative wings and wingtips, known as Sharklets. Equipped with Pratt & Whitney‘s PW1127G engines, Condor's new fleet boasts the latest engine technology, delivering a 20% reduction in fuel consumption and the flexibility to operate using sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). These advancements contribute to up to 20% lower CO2 emissions and a remarkable 50% decrease in fuel consumption compared to previous models.
