HK Express Airways (HK Express), a low-cost carrier based in Hong Kong, has opted for Ultramain Systems ULTRAMAIN® ELB electronic cabin and technical logbook software. HK Express operates a growing fleet of Airbus A320- and A321-series aircraft, currently numbering 34.
The implementation of ULTRAMAIN ELB across the carrier's Airbus fleet will allow HK Express to capture real-time data digitally as work is completed. This shift not only reduces paper usage but also enhances operational visibility and reliability. Accurate, automated data collection during maintenance is crucial for effective corrective actions.
Beyond offering immediate global visibility of Tech & Cabin actions in ELB and the HK Express Maintenance System, ULTRAMAIN ELB enforces many aspects of the defect identification and resolution process that paper systems cannot. The software eliminates human-induced variability by guiding users to standardised defect classifications, providing on-device decision support directly to pilots and engineers. With real-time insights into maintenance operations, HK Express aims to lower maintenance costs, increase aircraft utilisation, and reduce deferral rates.
Alan Tang, Director, Maintenance and Engineering said, “We are excited to integrate ULTRAMAIN ELB into our fleet, marking a significant step towards enhancing our operational efficiency and reliability.” He added, “This advanced electronic logbook software aligns with our commitment to leveraging innovative technology to streamline our processes and reduce our environmental footprint. We anticipate that ULTRAMAIN ELB will greatly improve our maintenance operations, providing real-time data capture and seamless defect management, ultimately leading to improved service for our passengers and a more sustainable operation.”
