Thai express cargo airline K-Mile Asia has announced the addition of its first B767-300BCF, registered HS-KSA, to its fleet. This aircraft is K-Mile’s first widebody freighter and marks Thailand’s debut as a B767-300BCF operator.
The new freighter, HS-KSA, arrived at Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) on Friday, September 6, in K-Mile livery. It is expected to commence operations in October 2024, enhancing connectivity between Thailand, Southeast Asia, China, and India.
The B767-300BCF is a versatile aircraft designed for long-haul, regional, and feeder routes. It can carry up to 51.7 tonnes (115,808 pounds) of cargo, with 11,884 ft3 available on the main deck for 24 pallets and an additional 3,830 ft3 in the lower hold.
This new freighter will complement K-Mile’s existing fleet of five B737 freighters, offering cost-effective solutions and expanding opportunities for air cargo customers in Thailand and Southeast Asia. Its capability to transport both express parcels and larger cargo, with a range of up to 6,105 kilometres (3,305 nautical miles), is expected to enhance the efficiency and reach of K-Mile’s operations.
Pansith Sasunee, Managing Director of K-Mile, expressed enthusiasm about the arrival of the company’s first B767-300BCF, which is also the first of its kind in Thailand. He highlighted that this milestone represents a significant advancement for K-Mile, reflecting the airline’s ongoing commitment to growth and capability enhancement. The new aircraft is set to improve the company’s services and reinforce its dedication to delivering high-quality and reliable cargo solutions across its network.
K-Mile is a joint venture with ASL Aviation Holdings, a global aviation services provider. ASL operates a fleet of 150 aircraft across eight cargo and passenger airlines in Europe, Australia, Asia, and South Africa, serving 150 airports worldwide. ASL is a global operator of B737 freighters and specialises in express freight for major customers including DHL, FedEx, UPS, and Amazon.
