Honeywell and Ameco (Aircraft Maintenance and Engineering Corporation), a subsidiary of Air China, have entered into an authorised repair and overhaul license agreement, along with a material supply agreement. The agreement will support hydro-mechanical unit (HMU) repairs for Air China Group aircraft.
The five-year licensing agreement grants Ameco the ability to perform in-house repairs on Honeywell's HMU for Boeing B737NG aircraft operated by Air China and its subsidiaries. The HMU is a crucial mechanical component responsible for regulating and controlling fuel flow from the aircraft's fuel system to the engine. This collaboration leverages Honeywell's advanced technology, which is aligned with three global megatrends: shaping the future of aviation, automation, and energy transition.
Commenting on the partnership, Ji Li, General Manager of Marketing and Sales at Ameco, stated: “We have enjoyed a longstanding partnership with Honeywell, whose exceptional product quality aligns perfectly with Ameco's core values of professionalism and efficiency. We look forward to further strengthening our collaboration with Honeywell in MRO and OEM services within the global aviation market.”
Honeywell and Ameco share a rich history of collaboration, with a track record of cooperation in material supply, parts maintenance, and overhaul. This new agreement will further enhance Ameco's global competitiveness, expand its maintenance service network within China and the wider Asia-Pacific region, and facilitate faster, more efficient maintenance solutions for local airlines.
By allowing Ameco to carry out HMU repairs domestically, the partnership is expected to streamline maintenance processes, reduce turnaround times, and improve overall service quality for Air China and its affiliated carriers.
