Embraer has signed an industrial cooperation agreement (ICA) with the Czech Ministry of Defence, marking a significant step in strengthening its long-term partnership with the Czech Republic. This strategic agreement aims to bolster local industrial and technological capabilities while promoting innovation, creating highly skilled jobs, and contributing to the growth of the country's aerospace and defence sector.
As part of the agreement, additional contracts were signed to increase Aero Vodochody's involvement in the C-390 Millennium programme, facilitating knowledge exchange and the transfer of expertise to LOM Praha.
Aero Vodochody, a prominent Czech aerospace manufacturer, has been a key partner in the C-390 Millennium programme since its inception in 2011, producing components such as the rear fuselage, paratrooper and crew doors, emergency doors and hatches, the cargo ramp and the fixed leading edge. The new agreement will expand the number of C-390 parts manufactured at Aero Vodochody and introduce new industrial capabilities, positively impacting job creation and increasing the value of exports from the Czech Republic.
State-owned MRO company LOM Praha, will benefit from knowledge transfer on the C-390 aircraft's maintenance, training its technicians to conduct both organic and intermediate maintenance activities. This will enable LOM Praha to be integrated into the C-390's life cycle management. Additionally, the agreement opens up further opportunities for services and support related to the C-390, potentially leading to a long-term partnership.
This milestone underscores Embraer's commitment to strengthening ties with its local partners and supporting their growth. As part of its strategic vision, Embraer also plans to collaborate with local universities and research institutions on advanced aerospace projects. These initiatives will facilitate knowledge sharing, create opportunities for Czech engineering talent and drive innovation in next-generation aerospace technologies.
