Eviation Aircraft has announced that UrbanLink Air Mobility, a South Florida-based Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) company, has signed a letter of intent (LOI) to purchase ten Alice commuter aircraft, with an option for an additional ten. UrbanLink will incorporate these electric aircraft into its operations across its hub cities of Miami, Los Angeles, and San Juan, Puerto Rico, as part of its urban mobility solutions.
The Alice aircraft, which seats nine passengers, is fully electric and designed for sustainable travel. According to Eviation, total orders for the Alice now exceed US$5 billion, reflecting growing interest in environmentally friendly aviation options.
Andre Stein, CEO of Eviation, expressed optimism about the partnership: “Eviation and UrbanLink share a dream of making electric air travel a fact of everyday life. As Alice continues on its path to entry into service, partnerships such as this will ensure a future of flight that empowers travellers with convenient, accessible and affordable air travel that is friendly to the planet.”
Ed Wegel, Founder and Chairman of UrbanLink, added that the acquisition of the Alice aircraft is a crucial element of the company's strategy to develop an all-electric transportation network. “Our order for Eviation Alice aircraft completes the third leg of our all-electric operating plan, giving us the ability to offer nine-seat, zero-emission flights across our network. Together with our regional eVTOL aircraft and electric sea vessels, Alice enables us to provide seamless, sustainable travel options across the regions we serve.”
UrbanLink's commitment to Eviation Alice positions the company at the forefront of electric aviation, promoting sustainable, zero-emission air travel.
