HAECO Group (HAECO) has signed an MoU with Shanghai Aircraft Customer Service Co. (SACSC), a subsidiary of Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC), to collaborate on airframe, engine and component services for COMAC’s ARJ21 and C919 aircraft. This partnership addresses increasing maintenance demands for these platforms, reinforcing support for both domestic and international COMAC customers.
Founded in 1950, HAECO is a premier provider of aircraft engineering solutions, with expertise spanning airframe, engine, and component services. Operating across Hong Kong, Mainland China, Europe and the Americas, HAECO employs around 15,000 people. COMAC, the Chinese civil aircraft manufacturer, oversees the development, testing and operations of large passenger aircraft like the ARJ21 and C919.
HAECO currently provides maintenance for both ARJ21 and C919 platforms, including base maintenance services and is working to expand its capabilities for the CF34-10A engine and ARJ21 landing gear by 2025. The MoU further enhances HAECO’s expertise in C919 component maintenance, specifically for evacuation slides.
Richard Sell, HAECO Group CEO, highlighted the long-standing collaboration between HAECO and COMAC, especially through training at HAECO’s Xiamen facility, which has hosted over 2,700 COMAC student courses. He congratulated COMAC on opening its SACSC Hong Kong office, expressing appreciation for the trust placed in HAECO and affirming the company’s commitment to supporting COMAC’s growth.
This strategic partnership will enable HAECO and SACSC to expand service offerings for airline clients, enhancing regional aircraft maintenance capabilities and contributing to the sustainable growth of the aviation industry.
