thyssenkrupp Aerospace and SKF have extended their partnership for two additional years, securing the supply of steel, stainless steel, titanium, aluminium and copper to SKF’s facility in Lons-le-Saunier, France. As part of thyssenkrupp Materials Services, a leading mill-independent distributor, thyssenkrupp Aerospace will continue to provide a range of services aimed at enhancing supply chain resilience and transparency to support SKF’s growth plans.
Developed in close collaboration with SKF, these tailored services include logistics and sourcing support, quality inspections, and delivery management for finished materials. A digital control tower, created by thyssenkrupp Aerospace, coordinates these services in real time. In 2023, thyssenkrupp Aerospace supplied SKF with 187 tonnes of raw materials; deliveries to date in 2024 have already reached 180 tonnes—a 33% increase compared to the same period last year.
Emmanuel Soubigou, CEO of thyssenkrupp Aerospace France, says: “It is always very satisfying when a customer extends an existing contract because it shows that we are doing the right thing and helping them with the challenges they face.” He adds: “In the case of SKF, we have worked very hard to develop our relationship with them and continuously look for ways to improve the services we offer.”
Using its “Design, Manage, Operate” model, thyssenkrupp Aerospace co-created a custom solution with SKF through collaborative workshops, ensuring that the services meet SKF’s exact specifications and operational needs.
