Boeing and Pegasus Airlines have announced a landmark agreement for Türkiye's leading low-cost carrier to expand and modernise its single-aisle fleet with an order of up to 200 737 MAX aircraft. The deal includes a firm order for 100 737-10 jets, with options for an additional 100.
Pegasus Airlines launched operations nearly 35 years ago with the Boeing 737 Classic. The addition of the 737-10 will complement the airline's existing fleet of Next-Generation 737s, providing operational commonality and flexibility to meet growing travel demand.
“We have been a proud partner of Pegasus Airlines since their inception, and we are excited to welcome them as the newest 737 MAX customer,” said Stephanie Pope, President and CEO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes. “We appreciate their trust in the Boeing team, and we look forward to delivering on the 737-10 and its promise of greater efficiency, versatility and reliability.”
The 737-10, the largest model in Boeing's MAX family, can accommodate up to 230 passengers and offers a range of up to 5,740 km (3,100 nautical miles). Its advanced design reduces fuel consumption and emissions by 20% compared to the aircraft it replaces, ensuring sustainability and cost-effectiveness.
As low-cost carriers continue to drive regional growth, the 737-10 will enable Pegasus Airlines to expand into new markets across Europe, the Middle East, Central Asia, and Africa. Boeing's Commercial Market Outlook projects the delivery of nearly 7,900 single-aisle aircraft to operators in Europe and Central Asia over the next 20 years.
With this purchase, Pegasus Airlines brings the total orders for the 737 MAX 10 variant to over 1,200, reinforcing its role as a cornerstone of Boeing's single-aisle aircraft programme.
