Ontic, a prominent provider of complex engineered parts for the global aerospace and defence industries, has announced the appointment of Gareth Parkin as its new global Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
Parkin will officially take on the role on February 14, 2025, following a comprehensive transition period with the outgoing CFO, Toby Woolrych. Based at Ontic's Creedmoor facility in North Carolina, Parkin brings extensive financial leadership experience to the position.
Before joining Ontic, Parkin served as CFO of Messer Americas, a prominent supplier of industrial and medical gases. During his tenure, he played a key role in the company's successful sale to GIC in 2023. He also spent 19 years at The Linde Group in various financial and commercial roles, notably leading the divestiture of major assets across the Americas to satisfy anti-trust requirements. This included the creation of Messer Americas, acquired by CVC in 2019.
Woolrych, who has been with Ontic for three years, will step down at the end of March 2025. During his tenure, he was instrumental in strengthening Ontic's partnership with its owners, CVC, facilitating the transfer of ownership from CVC's Fund VII to Fund VIII last year. Woolrych plans to explore new professional opportunities following his departure.
Ontic's leadership transition comes as the company positions itself for continued growth and innovation in the aerospace and defence sectors.
