Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. has announced the appointment of Derek Zimmerman as Senior Vice President of Enterprise Supply Chain, a newly created role. Effective immediately, Zimmerman will oversee procurement, inventory management, logistics, warehousing, repair and overhaul, distribution and spare parts.
Zimmerman has been with Gulfstream since 2011, initially as vice president of product support materials. He later served as vice president of Gulfstream customer support in 2014 before becoming president of customer support in 2015.
In addition, Gulfstream has promoted Lor Izzard to Senior Vice President of Gulfstream Customer Support. Izzard will now lead sales support, service centre operations, government programmes and field support. Having joined Gulfstream in 1999 as a systems engineer, Izzard most recently served as vice president of field support.
Mark Burns, president of Gulfstream, emphasised the importance of these roles: “The strategic management of our enterprise supply chain and the ongoing support of our customers remain paramount to our long-term success. Derek and Lor are two seasoned leaders with proven track records of success. I look forward to their continued leadership in ensuring our products and parts operate at the highest standard for our customers throughout the life of their aircraft.”
These changes coincide with the upcoming retirement of Dennis Stuligross, Senior Vice President, Programme Management, Quality and Supply Chain. Stuligross, who has been with Gulfstream for over 30 years, will retire in March. His contributions included leading key areas such as completions, manufacturing, and operations and he played a pivotal role in certifying the Gulfstream G700.
The appointments of Zimmerman and Izzard underscore Gulfstream's commitment to maintaining excellence in supply chain management and customer support as it continues to enhance its global operations.
