Gulfstream Aerospace has released that the all-new Gulfstream G800 — the world's longest-range business jet — has received type certification from both the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), exceeding initial performance expectations.
The certifications confirm the G800's enhanced capabilities, including an impressive range of 8,200 nautical miles (15,186 kilometres) at a long-range cruise speed of Mach 0.85 — an increase of 200 nm (370 km) over original projections. The aircraft can also travel 7,000 nm (12,964 km) at a high-speed cruise of Mach 0.90, or an exceptional 8,000 nm (14,816 km) at Mach 0.87. In addition, its maximum operating speed has been raised to Mach 0.935, up from the previously stated Mach 0.925.
Certified with a balanced field length take-off distance of just 5,812 feet (1,771 metres) and a landing distance of 3,105 ft (946 m) under standard ISA day, sea level conditions, the G800 offers greater flexibility and access to a wider range of airports.
This ultralong-range, high-speed performance, combined with enhanced fuel efficiency, is the result of Gulfstream's advanced aerodynamic wing and winglet design paired with Rolls-Royce Pearl 700 engines.
