HAECO has started providing line maintenance support for Cathay Pacific’s Airbus A321neo fleet at Hong Kong International Airport, effective July 1, 2025. This development extends the company’s coverage to the airline’s entire narrow-body and wide-body fleet, which includes Boeing 747-400F, 747-8F, 777-300, 777-300ER and Airbus A330-300, A350-900 and A350-1000 aircraft.
Under the agreement, HAECO will deliver a full suite of services for the A321neo, ranging from maintenance planning and transit checks with release certification to cabin cleaning, cabin upkeep, overnight maintenance up to A-checks, engine on-wing servicing, ground equipment support, exterior washing and rapid aircraft-on-ground (AOG) recovery. The arrangement makes Cathay Pacific HAECO’s largest narrow-body customer by flight volume.
The collaboration draws on a long-standing relationship between the two companies and benefits from the Centre of Excellence, a joint initiative launched in 2020. This facility uses digitalised planning tools and real-time dashboards to coordinate manpower, tooling, spare parts and equipment, enabling both teams to prepare effectively for scheduled maintenance and respond promptly to AOG situations.
The introduction of the A321neo fleet into HAECO’s service portfolio comes at a time of significant growth at Hong Kong International Airport. With the third-runway system now fully operational and Terminal 2 nearing completion, the company is well-placed to take advantage of the enhanced capacity while maintaining rigorous safety and operational standards.
