BOC Aviation has agreed to purchase and lease back three Boeing 737-8 aircraft to Akasa Air. The planes will be leased on long-term operating agreements and will be powered by CFM LEAP-1B engines. The first delivery is set for January 2026.
Paul Kent, Chief Commercial Officer at BOC Aviation, said the company was delighted to welcome Akasa as a new customer. He noted that the Boeing 737-8 remains one of the world’s most popular single-aisle aircraft. The deal, he added, shows BOC Aviation’s strength in providing capital to support airline growth.
Priya Mehra, Chief of Governance and Strategic Acquisitions at Akasa Air, said the partnership with BOC Aviation supports the airline’s long-term growth plans. She emphasised the importance of expanding connectivity across domestic and international routes.
Akasa Air aims to grow responsibly and efficiently. Its fleet strategy focuses on sustainability, reliability, and a high-quality passenger experience.
This agreement marks a key milestone for both companies. It strengthens Akasa’s expansion and reinforces BOC Aviation’s position as a leading global aircraft lessor.
