SR Technics has begun operations at its new facility in Bad Zurzach, further expanding the company’s global engine maintenance footprint. From January 2026, the site will provide Quick Turn Services, including high-level engine inspections, repairs, modifications and field assistance for CFM56-5B/7B and PW4000 engines, supporting operators worldwide.
The new site, known as SR Technics Zurzach, has been established to enable fast and efficient maintenance activity, helping aircraft return to service with minimal downtime. All required regulatory approvals and certifications, including those from the Swiss Federal Office of Civil Aviation, have been secured, allowing operations to commence as planned.
The first engine induction at the facility will be a CFM56-7B operated by Transavia Airlines, marking the official operational launch of the site.
Commenting on the opening, Owen McClave, Chief Executive Officer of SR Technics, said the start of operations in Bad Zurzach, located close to the company’s two engine test cells in Zurich, underlines SR Technics’ commitment to providing full-service support to its customers. Pierre Berthelot, General Manager of Zurzach, added that the dedicated Quick Turn and field assistance capabilities will allow the company to respond immediately to customer requirements while continuing to invest in people, capabilities and infrastructure.
Renovation work on the facility began in January 2025, converting an existing industrial building into a modern, purpose-designed engine maintenance environment. As operations ramp up, SR Technics plans to grow its workforce in Zurzach to around 100 employees, supporting both business expansion and regional employment. The company continues to develop the Zurzach site as part of its wider growth strategy.
