CDB Aviation, the Irish-based wholly owned subsidiary of China Development Bank Financial Leasing Co., has delivered a Boeing 737-8 aircraft to its existing customer, China Southern Airlines.
This latest delivery follows the addition of two Airbus A321-251NX aircraft from the lessor’s orderbook in August 2025. Together, these transactions bring the total number of aircraft on long-term lease from CDB Aviation to China Southern to three, marking a steady expansion of the partnership.
Michelle Wu, Head of Commercial for Greater China at CDB Aviation, highlighted the strategic importance of the deal. She noted that the company is pleased to strengthen its collaboration with China Southern and values the continued partnership with the airline’s team. The delivery also reflects CDB Aviation’s ongoing commitment to providing tailored financing solutions to airline partners across the Greater China region.
The introduction of this next-generation Boeing 737-8 is expected to support China Southern’s fleet modernisation and operational efficiency objectives. It will also play a role in reinforcing the airline’s growth strategy across key domestic and international markets, as demand for newer, more fuel-efficient aircraft continues to rise.
