Bombardier’s long-standing customer Vista has taken delivery of its first Global 8000 aircraft at the company’s London Biggin Hill Service Centre, marking an important step in the operator’s fleet modernisation strategy. The introduction of the new flagship jet signals an upgrade programme that will see Vista’s existing Global 7500 fleet progressively converted to the enhanced Global 8000 standard.
The upgrade plan is already underway, with two aircraft scheduled for conversion each month. By the end of the year, all 18 aircraft are expected to be fully upgraded, creating what is set to become the largest subscription-based fleet of Global 8000 jets in operation.
The Global 8000 offers a range of 8,000 nautical miles and a top speed of Mach 0.95, enabling faster, longer-range travel than its predecessor. Its cabin is designed to deliver a premium passenger experience, featuring the longest seating area in its class and one of the lowest cabin altitudes in business aviation. These characteristics are intended to improve comfort and reduce fatigue, allowing passengers to arrive better rested and ready for onward commitments.
“These developments mark another important milestone in Vista’s ongoing commitment to operating the most advanced fleet in private aviation,” said Thomas Flohr, Founder and Chairman of Vista.
The delivery follows a recent agreement between the two companies, under which Vista placed a firm order for 40 Challenger 3500 aircraft, with options for a further 120, reinforcing the long-term partnership between the firms.
