AerCap has delivered the first of three new Airbus A321neo aircraft to Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL), marking the type’s debut in the airline’s fleet. The aircraft was handed over at Airbus’ Delivery Centre in Hamburg.
The delivery forms part of a 2024 agreement covering three A321neos and three A320neos. Two A320neos have already entered service, with the remaining aircraft due for delivery by November 2026.
Peter Anderson, Chief Commercial Officer at AerCap, said the fuel-efficient A321neo would support AZAL’s fleet modernisation, network expansion and passenger offering. AZAL Chief Commercial Officer Jamil Manizade described the aircraft as another milestone in the airline’s long-term fleet renewal strategy, strengthening operational efficiency and supporting sustainable growth.
