RECARO Aircraft Seating (RECARO) has appointed Andreas Erber as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Member of the Executive Board, effective September 2026, as the company steps up its focus on innovation, engineering and sustainable growth.
Erber, who holds a degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Stuttgart, brings extensive experience in aviation and advanced composites. He began his career at a carbon fibre specialist, where he spent nearly a decade in senior leadership roles, including Head of Thermoplastic Composites, Director of the Lightweight and Application Center, and Vice President Aerospace.
Most recently, he served as Managing Director at a major automotive and aerospace supplier, leading aviation-focused engineering and advanced composite technology programmes.
The appointment comes as the aviation sector continues to expand, with RECARO supported by an order book of around €3bn (US$3.42). The company also continues to prioritise innovation, investing at least 10% of its annual revenue in research and development.
