CDB Aviation, the Irish leasing subsidiary of China Development Bank Financial Leasing (CDB Leasing), has completed a sale-and-lease-back transaction with Lufthansa covering two Boeing 787-9 aircraft.
The aircraft, delivered to Lufthansa in late 2025 and early 2026, will operate on the airline’s long-haul network and feature its new Allegris cabin, including upgraded business, premium-economy and economy cabins.
The agreement marks CDB Aviation’s first direct leasing transaction with Lufthansa, having previously worked with the group’s engine leasing business and completed aircraft sales to Austrian Airlines and Eurowings. The lessor said the deal supports its strategy of expanding its portfolio with new-generation aircraft operated by leading airline customers.
