Embraer has completed the acquisition of the remaining 50% stake in EZ Air Interior, its joint venture with Safran Cabin, as well as selected cabin interior assets in Brazil. The transaction gives Embraer full ownership of the Mexico-based operation, which has exclusively supported the manufacturer’s aircraft programmes since its establishment in 2012, producing components including overhead luggage bins, galleys, lavatories and floor panels for the E-Jets family.
The agreement also includes the integration of part of Safran Cabin’s Jacareí operation in Brazil, which is dedicated to Embraer programmes, while Safran will retain its non-Embraer engineering services activities in the country. The company said the acquisition supports its long-term strategy to strengthen its industrial capabilities and create additional value for the business.
The transaction was completed following the required regulatory approvals and the fulfilment of customary closing conditions.
